 RHONDA VANLANDING  Hello everyone, my name is David VanLanding. I have started this page with the hopes that many of you can help. Some of you may or may not know that I was once married to Rhonda who up until this day I still think is a remarkable woman. Unfortunately Rhonda & I didn't work out but we have remained good friends and have stayed close after our divorce. Rhonda has unfortunately been dealt a bad hand. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer, unfortunately this particular breast cancer is very aggressive. However, if treated quickly it can respond quite well to treatment. When I heard this terrible news, I instantly knew that Rhonda is about to embark on a difficult journey and the ultimate fight for her life. Like so many others that we may know in our lives, this is a journey that requires great courage, a positive mental state, and good insurance. Although Rhonda is already demonstrating great courage, unfortunately she does not have health insurance. My goal in writing to each of you is to simply try and raise as much money as possible toward getting Rhonda the medical treatment she now so desperately needs. If I said I was totally comfortable in writing and asking for money…well….that wouldn’t be the truth…but this is not about my comfort….it is completely about rallying around Rhonda during a time in her life where she desperately needs the help of all who know her….and perhaps even those who do not. Rhonda’s treatment is estimated to cost between $30,000 - $40,000. She is gathering as much funds as she can to continue her treatment. However, this is only the beginning. She desperately needs funds to initiate her total treatment plan, and she needs them quickly. Here’s where I am asking for your help. Please give what you can……and I would like ask that we all THINK about where we spend our money…..perhaps a luxury item…..and simply give it up…one time. Do without something you really don’t need. Personally, I look at how I spend my money….and giving up $50, $150, even $200 on a non-essential item would simply NOT be missed by me. Yet, it would make a HUGE IMPACT for Rhonda. In addition, if we also asked just 5 of our friends to donate $5 dollars….you can see how exponentially this could add up. We could raise over $20,000 – $30,000 easily! How can you donate? I have setup a paypal account for Rhonda and I will also be making the song you are listening to right now available for download. When you buy and download the song, every penny will go to Rhonda's medical bills. Finally I just want to say, I know that everyone of us has had cancer touch our lives in some form or the other, I lost my mother to cancer and it was the worst moment of my life, please do what you can to help! God Bless you all. JUST ADDED !!! I am putting on a benefit show for Rhonda in Arizona on 11/13/2011 at 910 Live (Formerly Boston's) 910liveaz.com to help her with her medical bills. I am hoping that every musician in the area will come out and support this cause. Cancer has touched each and everyone of us in some form or fashion. As of a few days ago, Rhonda has had at least 3 surgeries. She has had both breast removed and her body is riddled with cancerous tumors. Why am I being so candid? well this is as real as it gets, if Rhonda doesn't continue the medical treatment she needs, than doctors say we are going to lose her and I am going to do everything in my power to not let that happen. So please come on out and support this cause and listen to some good rock n' roll and who knows maybe a few big names might pop by. I am also going to be setting up an online auction for some special items. I can say without hesitation that one of these items will be a autographed Dean Guitar signed by my friends Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth & Leslie West. Billy was the best man at Rhonda & I's wedding and just one of the best friends a guy can have...love you bro!!!
